New Direction for Ripon Museum Trust Director

James Etherington, Director at Ripon Museum Trust, will be leaving his post on 24th January to take up the position of Director at Kiplin Hall and Gardens.

Throughout James’ time at the Trust, he has overseen the building of a strong staff team, and a committed and growing volunteer team.  James commented “It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but I felt now was a good time to move on as the museums are in a really strong position at present. It has been a real privilege to work with everyone at the Trust for over three years and I am grateful for the opportunity”.

Richard Taylor, Chairman of Ripon Trust, said “We are sorry to see James go but wish him every success with his new position at Kiplin Hall.  We are very grateful for all his work and enthusiasm during his time with us”.

A recruitment process is now underway and full details will be made available in the coming few weeks.

Ripon Museums are now looking forward to a major project to transform the Workhouse and have a varied programme of events and exhibitions planned for 2019.  All three museums will open to visitors on 9th February with an exciting and evocative sound and art installation in the Courthouse Museum.
