Paupers often arrived at the Workhouse with a collection of mites and fleas to be de-infested. The Victorians were fascinated by performing fleas and there were many travelling circuses where these miniature mites performed feats of strength and skill!
Come along to the Workhouse this half term for amazing tales of flea circuses. packed with special activities including dress your own flea, bake a circus animal biscuit and beat the lion tamer. Take part in circus games, watch Punch and Judy and follow the flea circus trail (with a treat when complete). All activities included with the cost of admission. (Note - there will be no real fleas present!)
