Event 11am - 4pm / All weather Tea Party!
Fun for all is in store at Ripon’s Workhouse Museum this weekend when you are invited to join the Master and Matron for their annual Tea Party – expect traditional stalls, games, stocks, trails and lots of fun – all with free entry! If you enjoy dressing up then come along in fancy dress and perhaps win a prize (Judging 2.30pm)
Enjoy a tour of the Workhouse with the Master, have a giggle with Punch and Judy, kids can burn off energy in the children’s sack and bloomer races, try your hand at croquet on the front lawn, take aim at the coconut shy and enjoy traditional games on the back lawn including Roll the Penny and Splat the Rat! Visit the ‘white elephant’ stall, and see what you can win in the raffle and tombola.
Wander round the vintage kitchen garden, which is cultivated using Victorian gardening techniques, and pick your own heritage lettuce and potatoes helped by our garden volunteers, plant out and take away your own Victorian salad selection, cut a bunch of fragrant fresh sweet peas & enjoy music in the garden.
And of course no tea party would be complete without the chance to enjoy delicious homemade cakes and a large pot of tea in the pop up café in the Woodshed…
