The police heritage project is funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Collections Fund. Our project partner is the Bradford Police Museum. 

This project is working to develop the historic police collections at both Ripon and Bradford. Work is underway to improve collections management practices and develop access to the wealth of material reflecting over 150 years of policing and criminal justice. 

March 2018 NEW!

A small touring display has been rseearched by volunteers from Bradford and Ripon. It is currently being designed and developed and is scheduled to tour sites across North Yorkshire and bradford from May 2018. Details will appear here in due course so watch this space.

Oral History Programme:

Did/do you work for the police in Yorkshire? Do you have memories you'd like to share? As part of this project we are interested in collecting oral histories from ex-police officers who can share their memories, experiences and reflect on what changes you may have witnessed over the years.
