Master and Matron’s Summer Celebration: All weather Tea Party!

21 July 2018

10am - 4pm

Volunteers dressed as scullery maids showing off the cakes they've baked.

Fun for all is in store at Ripon’s Workhouse Museum this weekend when you are invited to join the Master and Matron for their annual Tea Party – expect traditional stalls, games, stocks, trails and lots of fun – all with FREE entry!

This year we are also celebrating the 1st Anniversary of the opening of the Master and Matron's Dining Room so you are invited to take a slice of birthday cake with them.

Enjoy a tour of the Workhouse with the Master, have a giggle with Punch and Judy, kids can burn off energy in the children’s sack and bloomer races, try your hand at croquet, take aim at the coconut shy and enjoy traditional games.

Wander round the vintage kitchen garden, which is cultivated using Victorian gardening techniques, and pick your own heritage lettuce and potatoes helped by our garden volunteers, plant out and take away your own Victorian salad selection, cut a bunch of fragrant fresh sweet peas & enjoy music in the garden.

And of course no tea party would be complete without the chance to enjoy delicious homemade cakes and a large pot of tea in the pop up café...
