The Trail will help visitors discover fascinating features of the Workhouse Museum from the outside as well as an opportunity of enjoying the beautiful gardens - the Front Garden, the Master's Garden and the Victorian Kitchen Garden.

The museum buildings will not be open to the public, but a peak inside the windows will give a glimpse of how people lived in the workhouse.  The museum has moved some of its exhibits, photographs of life in the workhouse and information boards nearer to the inside of windows so people can enjoy them from the outside!

A handy take home Trail will guide visitors around the side.

We have opened up our beautiful outdoor spaces at the Workhouse Museum for all to enjoy.  We invite you to take a wander in the fresh air to admire the interesting architecture of our buildings and all the lovely heritage plants growing in the gardens.  The Workhouse site has so much to tell us about how the poor lived and inspires us to think about these issues today.

Visitors are welcome to bring along a picnic to enjoy their surroundings.

The 'Inside Out' Trail will be open on Thursdays-Saturdays 2nd, 3rd and 4th July and the following week 9th, 10th and 11th July.

Entry is by pre-bookable timed tickets only, book online here.

Please do visit our Essential Information page which will give our Covid-19 information to visitors.
