Marvellous Marble Making – Family Craft Workshop

Wednesday 27th August

Marbles have always been a favourite amongst children throughout history  – the oldest marbles ever found date back to 2500BCE!!  Victorian workhouses were no exception, with children making marbles our of small balls of clay.  Come and have a go at creating your own set of marvellous marbles and see if you can become a game master!

This is the perfect holiday activity for little hands to get stuck in to whilst learning a little bit of what life was like in Victorian times.  The session is free with an annual pass to the museum or £2 per child if you just want to drop-in for this individual session.

This craft activity will be held on 27th August.  The morning session will run 10:30am-12:30pm and the afternoon session will run 1pm-3:00pm.  There is no need to book – just come along and get making!

This is one of the many fun and creative activities included in the price of your annual pass across our three museums.  Make sure you check our ‘Things To Do’ page to see what we have coming up.

Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult.  We suggest that this activity is suitable for children 4+  but please be aware that younger children will need help with tasks such as cutting out.

This Activity is at the Workhouse Museum.
