The Workhouse museum is now open!  

From July 21st the exciting new experience is now open at the Workhouse Museum!

The final stages of refurbishment are complete and we’re ready to take visitors on a brand-new journey and ask Would You Survive the Victorian Workhouse?

Join us and step into the shoes of Victorian paupers, vagrants and workhouse children this summer in the newly transformed Ripon Workhouse Museum.

There’s new hands-on activities, interactive displays and powerful storytelling, so you can discover what life was really like inside one of Britain’s most complete surviving Victorian workhouses.
