Join the weekly herb garden walkabouts

Join the Workhouse garden walkabouts every week from now until September.

They are FREE with your museum ticket and promise to be an enjoyable morning of activity.

The walkabouts meet at 11am on Friday mornings (check below) and you will meander around the lovingly restored Victorian kitchen garden by one of our garden volunteers.

Find out how common garden herbs, like rosemary, sage and thyme can be used to treat everyday ailments.

You can enjoy demonstrations of how to make your own herbal infusions and balm whilst having the opportunity to blend your own take away relaxation tea.

Learn more about medicinal herbs commonly used by Victorian apothecaries and the wider heritage varieties the workhouse garden boasts.  There is both relaxation and learning on this tour and it’s absolutely FREE with your museum pass.
