Sights and Sounds

Saturday 12th March 11am – 2pm

Sights and Sounds of Ripon – Enjoy a free family friendly day of activities for all ages. Visit all three Ripon museums, and other venues across Ripon including the library, market square, town hall and cathedral.

Ripon Workhouse Museum and Garden

Experience life as an inmate with Victorian school lessons, wash day chores in the laundry and try your hand at rag rugging. There will be two Punch and Judy shows throughout the day (11.30am & 1.30pm), Morris Dancers and Betty Lupin Dancers (12pm), a Ukulele Band (12.30pm) and Trinity Choir (2pm).

Join us to celebrate the unveiling of a new museum installation in response to ideas and artistic creation from a group of young adults studying at Evolve College. Creative Conversations is a project exploring Fairness in partnership with Newcastle based visual and community artist Rachel Eleanor Brook. To celebrate the unveiling of the installation there will be a number of opportunities to get involved and be creative!

The pop-up café will be open in the Wood Shed serving tasty homemade treats.

The team from Fountains Abbey National Trust will be joining us on the village green and RSPB will be joining us in the Garden to discuss their latest projects.
