Workhouse Museum Relaunch Celebration Event

Come join the celebrations as Ripon Workhouse Museum reopens on Tuesday 21st July! Step into the shoes of Victorian paupers, vagrants and workhouse children this summer as the newly transformed Ripon Workhouse Museum opens following a £2.8 million redevelopment.

Come along to our relaunch celebration event where you can get a first look at our new immersive experience. This special event promises fun for all the family as we take you back in time to meet real live Victorians, including our scary schoolteacher, and the Master and Matron, who helped keep the workhouse running smoothy.

Try your hand at Victorian tasks like baking and doing laundry the Victorian way!  You can also learn what life was like for paupers at the workhouse in our very messy storytelling session and make slime in our drop-in workshop!

All activities run between 10am and 4pm and are included with entry to the Workhouse Museum on Tuesday 21st July.
