Julian Smith MP, Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon, visited the Workhouse Museum on Friday 14 May ahead of its reopening.

Mr. Smith met with Ripon Museum Trust Director Helen Thornton and Chair of Trustees Richard Taylor, for a tour of the museum site.

Helen Thornton said: “After being closed since December, we’re very much looking forward to reopening our doors and welcoming visitors back to the museums. We value the support of our local community and it’s fantastic to have the opportunity to talk to our MP, Julian Smith, about our plans for the future.”

Mr. Smith said: “It was great to visit the Workhouse Museum in Ripon for a tour ahead of its reopening. I was very pleased to speak to Helen and Richard about the preparations to welcome visitors back to the museum and about how important culture and heritage organisations are not only to our local community in Ripon but also to North Yorkshire.”

Ripon Museums reopen on Monday 17 May.
