Something’s going down on the cell block floor…

The Victorian prisoners are feeling the funk at Ripon Prison. Join in as they stomp their feet, rattle their bars, and dance along to the cell block boogie. But what happens when the warden catches wind of the beat? Will he shut down the jam or join in the dance?

This activity will be held on Saturday 1st as part of Read to the Beat! the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge at Ripon Library. The story will run for approximately 20 minutes, followed by 40 minutes of play with all the props. To ensure you don’t miss out on the fun, book a place by calling 01609 536 623.

As we will be dancing, singing and playing instruments, this session will be loud! There will be ear defenders available to use, and you are welcome to bring your own.

Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult.  This activity is suitable for all ages but please be aware that younger children will need adult supervision.
