Object Handling: Terrifying Transportation

Get hands on with some fascinating objects from our collection and uncover the story of criminal transportation. During the 18th and 19th centuries, thousands of people convicted of crimes in Britain were sentenced to transportation to penal colonies, including Australia. Explore the story of criminal transportation and discover what it meant for those who were sent overseas. Find out more through our interactive object handling drop-in.

There is no need to book – just come along and join in! This activity is included in the price of your annual pass.
