This tasty cooking apple was found at Copt Hewick, near Ripon in Yorkshire.
Grandpa Buxton was introduced in 1990s by R. V Roger, long-established nurserymen in Pickering, Yorkshire.
It is a yellow-green, large, smooth-skinned cooker, of almost uniform milk yellow-green.
