If so, this job is for you! Since we re-opened after lockdowns in July 2021 we have delivered exceptional visitor services to all those who have come to our museums – whether as families on a day trip or children in school groups. Our volunteers are at the heart of making what we do a success.

We are recognised by Arts Council England (ACE) and National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) as worth investing in and our volunteering experience is seen in the business as ‘second to none’. We have two major projects about to start in 2023 with ACE and NLHF – both these projects need high levels of volunteer participation and engagement. This is the chance for you as the new Volunteer and Operations Manager to really make your mark and take our achievements in volunteering to the next level.

As we build on our success we need a dynamic and innovative Volunteer and Operations Manager. We are looking for someone who can empathise with our diverse volunteers, support them to obtain maximise satisfaction with their volunteering experience as well delivering fantastic value for the museum, and to recruit new people who never saw volunteering as for them. Work base: Ripon Workhouse Museum

Salary: £25,000 per annum, NEST pension scheme (5% employer’s contribution), full training given, travel expenses, use of a work laptop and mobile phone, comfy offices, free parking at workplace, free social events.

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: Full time 37 hours per week. Office based with some working from home and hybrid working supported. We are open to considering a variety of options, including hours of work and work patterns and secondments for the right individual. Tell us what you need! Some evening and weekend work will be required

Responsible to: Museum Director
