May half term activities

Looking for some fun activities to keep your kids entertained this May holiday?

If you are looking for great family days out during the school holidays then mark the Ripon Museums as a date in your diary. Come and journey back in time exploring the fascinating history and stories within the museums. But that’s not all – we’re also inviting young adventurers to immerse themselves in the world of the Victorians.

Dress up in Workhouse attire and enjoy classic games like hopscotch and hoop and stick on the museum lawn. For those with a creative flair, there are craft activities in the Workhouse, while budding bakers can roll up their sleeves and get stuck into some Victorian kitchen fun, with our volunteers on hand to help make traditional treats.

Step inside the Courthouse for more dressing up and courtroom drama, where you can learn about past cases and become intriguing characters from Ripon’s history. And don’t forget to visit the Prison & Police Museum for some fingerprinting fun – just be sure not to end up locked in the cells!

After a day filled with adventure, unwind in our beautiful Workhouse Garden, where you can relax, explore and enjoy the peaceful surroundings – fingers crossed for some sunny weather!

There’s plenty going on for the whole family this May and there is no need to book in advance.
